The goal was - at first - modest. When Remove The Barriers launched our petition against the recent traffic calming measures in East Vancouver, we hoped to gather a few hundred signatures. As the weeks have progressed, however, that number has changed. With every community meeting, we've discovered that our neighbours share our frustration and wish to join the cause; and with each day comes new petition participants.
We are thrilled to announce that we've almost reached 3,000 verified signatures.
This is a milestone for our efforts, helping to prove that traffic calming impacts our streets and our neighbours. Momentum is building around East Vancouver as residents continue to voice concerns about diversions, accessibility, emergency responses, and even everyday commutes; and our petition has seen consistent support from all of you. We are proud to be a part of this movement and are grateful for the help you have all provided.
Let's keep pushing forward. The goal - for now - is 3,000 signatures. Join us as we move closer to achieving that number and providing proof to city officials that these measures simply do not work.
We are making an impact for our community - and it's because of you.
