Who we are
Remove The Barriers is a volunteer-led, grassroots citizens’ group. None of our members or organizers is paid for their time. We are independent residents working to keep our neighbourhood streets open, safe and accessible.
Our mission
We stand for freedom of mobility and freedom of choice in how we travel. Families should be able to drive their kids to school, go grocery shopping and get to and from work without unnecessary barriers.
We oppose the road closures installed under the City of Vancouver’s traffic calming program, and we are working to make sure residents can reach their homes safely.
Financial transparency: where your money goes
Direct impact
Every dollar donated through our website goes toward our media campaign, website costs and getting our message out.
Not a charity
Remove The Barriers is not a registered charity, and donations are not tax-deductible.
Change.org
Change.org has been a great tool for launching our campaign. However, money contributed on Change.org goes to Change.org to promote the petition. None of it reaches Remove The Barriers.
