The movement is growing.
What started as individual concerns about traffic barriers is becoming a broader community conversation. Remove The Barriers is proud to announce that our petition has now gathered more than 2,500 signatures - with East Vancouver residents rallying behind a desire for change.
Traffic calming has severely impacted our neighbourhood, leaving our streets overwhelmed and our patience frayed. Vehicles haven't disappeared; they've simply surged down back-alleys - and this new form of commuting has brought nothing but frustration.
The chance for change is growing stronger, however. With every name added to our petition comes a new conversation, a new connection. The community is taking charge of their streets, demanding that Vancouver officials reexamine transportation policies. Barriers were erected without an understanding of the neighbourhoods they intersect and the people they impact. They must go.
Help us achieve this goal by joining our movement.
