Every neighbourhood has a story to tell. Sometimes it begins with a barricade appearing on a familiar street - or perhaps a longer commute, a disappearing parking space, an overwhelmed alley, or simply the feeling that decisions are being made with neither your consent nor convenience considered.
That is why resident voices matter.
Our resident interviews began with a simple idea: provide East Vancouver families with a chance to discuss what they are experiencing in their neighbourhoods. The recordings aren't meant to tell others what to think. They are simply the starting point for a larger community conversation—and a reminder that the people who live on these streets have valuable knowledge about how traffic calming affects everyday life.
Now we want to hear from you.
Have traffic changes affected how you engage with your neighbourhood? Have your travels been lengthened and your schedules interrupted? Have you worried for your family as displaced vehicles speed down once quiet alleys? We want to share your story.
Every conversation helps connect neighbours, identify common issues, and make sure residents understand that they aren't alone in their concerns. The goal isn't simply to complain. It's to build a community that listens to one another and wishes to have a voice in the decisions that shape where we live.
If you have a story, share it; if you have a concern, speak out; and, and if you wish to help, join our community and connect with your neighbours.
Your street, your voice.
