The time has come, Vancouver. In mere hours a chance will arrive to speak out against traffic calming measures and reclaim our neighborhoods. Are you ready?
The Way We Move - a one-day conference at SFU Harbour Centre - brings together mobility planners and policymakers to discuss the future of transportation. It's meant to connect the community to individuals who are directly shaping the streets, allowing for extensive panel discussions with Farinaz Rikhtehgaran (Director of Programs at Better Environmentally Sound Transportation); Rachel Wuttunee (Senior Manager of Urban Indigenous Relations); Lon LaClaire (General Manager of Engineering Services at the City of Vancouver); and more. The intent is to inspire conversation.
Traffic calming deserves to be part of that conversation. Full-closure measures have made our neighborhoods less safe, less structured, and less navigable - and it's time to reclaim them.
The Way We Move provides access to those in control of our streets... and we must confront them directly. Ask questions; challenge assumptions; and share your experiences
Purchase your tickets now and speak out against traffic calming.
